As you check back here over the next few months I am not sure what you will find - obviously in Trizone you'll find anything and everything that you will need for your Triathlon training and racing but this section will be more like a lucky dip of advice, reviews, training and racing updates, the occasional story and probably one or two rants !

I had quite a leisurely month of September after a busy year of training and racing. My 11th place at the World Championship Series in Yokohama and win in the Dublin City Triathlon ended my season positively and so after a few weeks off I started back training at the beginning of October.

My first week back was tough even though in reality the sessions were relatively easy. I felt heavy, sluggish and slow but as the weeks go on I am beginning to find my rhythm.

Currently my sessions are all aerobic with elements of strength development such as paddles in the pool, hilly biking and running. I will have to admit that my programme is very flexible at the moment with much of being determined by the Weather Man ! If its dry I will ride between 2 and 4 hours, I swim between 4-6km in the mornings and I am running or as I like to call it, exploring, around 80km per week. Monday to Friday is a fairly consistent routine with the weekends being left open to discussion.

In early November I will once again head to South Africa for much of the Winter - that is when I will increase my training volume, begin to focus a little more, work on my weaknesess and lay the foundations for 2010 - so between now and then I am 'training to train'.

Like me I hope you ended your season with some great memories, good luck in the coming months, enjoy your training and once again welcome to Trizone
